About The Access Project
The Access Project is a national counseling, referral, education and advocacy program of The Network. We assist people in need of, or currently covered by:
- Private insurance
- AIDS Drug Assistance Programs
- State Drug Assistance Programs
- Medicare Part D
- Medicaid
- No insurance
- Patient Assistance Programs
The CARE Pharmacy network is the sole provider of antiretorviral medications for Medicaid and ADAP patients in the District of Columbia. This expanded program will result in a substantial increase in the number of HIV patients covered for these drugs.
Financial Eligibility
- Income at or below 400% of the current Federal Poverty Level
- Liquid assets cannot exceed $5,000
- Must be a D.C. resident
- Individuals with private insurance can access ADAP if insurance cap is reached
Medical Eligibility
- HIV+
- Documentation from a physician or a copy of HIV test result
Enrollment
- Proof of residency in DC
- Medical documentation
- Proof of income
Other Services
- There is an Insurance Continuation Program that can help with paying for insurance premiums
- Private confidential counseling also available
